El antiguo edificio del Liceo Francés, en el barrio República de Santiago, se remodela para albergar la sede de la nueva universidad de La Araucana. Se trata de una primera fase de remodelación de los dos edificios existentes, seguida de una segunda fase de construcción de un nuevo edifico. Esta segunda etapa no está realizada.
Se trata de una renovación interior integral, la aplicación de una nueva fachada que da a la calle y una reconfiguración de las comunicaciones
en la parte trasera de los edificios. Con la remodelación de actualiza el viejo edificio, se optimiza su configuración para el nuevo uso, provocando los mínimos cambios estructurales y aprovechando las características existentes.
The building for the former French Lyceum, in the República neighbourhood in Santiago, was renovated to harbor the headquarter of the new La Araucana University. There is a first renovation phase on the two existing buildings, followed by a second construction phase of a new building for the future needs of space. This second phase has not begun yet.
The renovation is a complete interior action and an addition of a new facade to the street. There is also a new reconfiguration of the comunications at the back of the building compound. With the renovation the old building is put to date, the configuration for the new use is optimized, creating the minimum structural changes.
